HEY THERE !
I'm Tom Gera (b. 1988, Netherlands), an Amsterdam-based writer and director. I make genre films about connection and transformation, and I'm currently developing my first feature, Black Egg, a psychological body horror set in the Catholic south where I grew up. It's produced by Hannah Padding at Bandit Amsterdam and selected for TorinoFilmLab NEXT 2026 and the Brussels CoProMarket 2026.
My shorts have screened at Slamdance, Screamfest LA, Netherlands Film Festival, Interfilm Berlin and Rhode Island IFF (Oscar-qualifying), picking up two Vimeo Staff Picks and Best Short Film awards along the way.
I also build the visual worlds my stories live in. VFX and design are part of the thinking from page one, and that craft has taken me into commissioned work for Beyoncé, Booking.com and Ziggo, among others.
