black hole sequence
Created stadium visuals for Beyoncé's Renaissance World Tour under Creative Director Andrew Makadsi. Developed and refined animatics for a 4-5 minute visual sequence projected on a 50-meter wide stadium screen. After the animatic approval, I oversaw the production of the finalized animation, working in Cinema 4D and After Effects, and brought on Menno Fokma and Erwin van den IJssel to help meet the tight deadline. The team worked until the very last minute, with renders still processing the morning of the show premiere in Stockholm! The final piece was featured in the show's second segment, accompanying the tracks "LIFT OFF" and "7/11". Through multiple iterations and close collaboration with the creative team, crafted visuals that vibed with the tour's spectacular aesthetic and energy.
Special recognition to Frederik Heyman, who was instrumental in developing the style and overall visual magnificence of the show's execution.
OUTTAKE

behind the scenes
Working with an artist of Beyoncé's caliber demanded exceptional flexibility and precision, with creative requirements evolving daily. The use of previs proved invaluable, allowing us to quickly adapt and reposition major animation segments as the music evolved. This dynamic workflow was crucial for effective communication and presentation throughout the production process, ensuring our visuals could keep pace with the artist's vision. The following is an outake of an early animatic.
