A Photoshop panel for working on parts of a big comp in Magnific, or any other AI image app. Draw a marquee, and the crop becomes a smart-object tile that opens as its own document. Paste it into Magnific, download the result, and Tile Bridge places it in the tile and saves, so the main comp updates on its own.
The tile is a smart object inside your comp. Change what's inside, save, and the comp follows, just like a precomp in After Effects.
Install (once)
Unzip the folder and keep it somewhere you'll find it again.
Easiest: double-click tile-bridge.ccx. Creative Cloud asks whether to install an unverified plugin; say yes and restart Photoshop. The panel is under Plugins › Tile Bridge.
If that doesn't work, install UXP Developer Tool from the Creative Cloud app, click Add Plugin, pick manifest.json in the folder, then Load. You have to press Load again each time you restart Photoshop.
Needs Photoshop 2023 (24.2) or newer.
Set up (once)
Outbox: the folder where tile crops are saved as PNG.
Inbox: the folder where Magnific results arrive. Your Downloads folder works: anything you download from Magnific gets picked up. It can't be the same folder as the outbox.
Use
Draw a marquee in the comp. Leave the ratio on Nearest to marquee to snap to the nearest ratio Nano Banana or Seedream can output, or pick one yourself.
Press Make tile & send to Magnific. The tile opens, and the crop is on your clipboard and in the outbox.
In Magnific, paste (Ctrl+V) or drag the PNG in, prompt, and download the result into the inbox.
Within a couple of seconds the result is placed in the tile, scaled to fill it, with a white mask, and the tile is saved so the comp updates. Every new download becomes a new layer on top.
Paint the masks inside the tile and press Ctrl+S whenever you want the comp to follow.
Several tiles at once
Every tile gets an ID (T01, T02 …) and its crop is exported as T03_1600x900.png. When a result comes in, Tile Bridge decides where it goes:
If the filename contains the ID (T03, tile 03, tile_03), it goes to that tile. Rename a download if you want to force it.
Otherwise it compares the picture with every tile, on aspect ratio and overall layout, and picks the one it looks most like.
If that's unclear (two tiles that look alike, or an edit that changed the layout a lot), it goes to the tile that's in front in Photoshop, and the status line shows a ⚠.
The status line always says which tile it used and why, and result layers are named after their tile.
Not using Magnific?
It works with any AI image app. Tile Bridge doesn't talk to Magnific at all: it puts the crop on your clipboard and in the outbox, and it watches the inbox folder for new images. Whatever lands in that folder gets placed in the tile. So:
Web apps (Gemini / Nano Banana, ChatGPT, Freepik, Krea, Higgsfield, Midjourney…): paste or upload the crop, generate, and download the result into the inbox. Your Downloads folder as inbox is the easiest, since that's where your browser saves anyway.
ComfyUI or other local tools: point the inbox at the tool's output folder (for ComfyUI that's ComfyUI/output, or a subfolder you save to). Every render then goes straight into the tile, no downloading needed. Load the crop from the outbox as your input image.
Several tiles: the matching works the same for every app. If an app renames your files, Tile Bridge falls back to comparing the pictures, or you put the tile ID (T03) in the filename yourself.
The button just says "send to Magnific" because that's what I use. You can ignore the name.
Good to know
Tiles are remembered while the panel is open. After restarting Photoshop, open an old tile and press Use open document as target tile to register it again.
If you close a tile, the next result for it reopens it from the comp.
A tile is a snapshot: if you change the comp underneath it later, the tile's base layer doesn't follow.
Questions
Does Tile Bridge only work with Magnific?
No. It works with any AI image app: Nano Banana in Gemini, ChatGPT, Freepik, Krea, Higgsfield, Midjourney or ComfyUI. It puts the crop on your clipboard and watches a folder for results, so it does not matter which app made the image.
Can I upscale or edit several parts of an image at once?
Yes. Every tile gets an ID (T01, T02 …) and Tile Bridge works out which result belongs to which tile, by filename or by comparing the pictures.
Which Photoshop version do I need?
Photoshop 2023 (version 24.2) or newer, on Windows or Mac.
Why a smart object?
The tile is a smart object inside your comp, like a precomp in After Effects. You work on the tile, save it, and the comp updates by itself.
