BOOKING

SCOPE - Modular content
CLIENT - Booking.com
STUDIO - Ambassadors Amsterdam
MARKETS - Worldwide
ROLE - Concept development / Director
YEAR - 2022

A year-long project creating modular video content for Bookings global markets. The shots were building blocks — designed to work as YouTube pre-roll for example..or as a billboard next to an airport, in 16×9, 9×16, and 1×1 and many more. We explored many different styles and ways of engaging audiences.

Compositions stayed fluid around dynamic text placements, playing on themes travelers respond to: trips for work, for leisure, solo getaways. I developed many of the concepts, and from a single shoot the system could export hundreds of deliverables for different platforms, formats, and regions. Thanks to innovative creative workflow system CUBE. A great lesson in modern ad production at scale.

UNLIMITED LOOPING ISLANDS

For this series of films, we set out to capture colour and atmosphere in-camera instead of greenscreen. The gradient backdrops — functioning as both environment and sky — were lit and shot live on set, giving us rich, organic colour plates to build from. To nail the top-to-bottom swipe transition, we used a high-precision robot arm capable of repeating the exact same camera move take after take. This allowed us to shoot multiple scenes with a perfectly consistent motion, stitching them together seamlessly in post. In post production, these plates were layered with hand-painted environments and concept art, brought to life to create the final worlds.

PRE-PRODUCTION TESTS and ANIMATICS

Hand drawn, frame by frame. For this spot we teamed up with illustrator Rafael Varona to craft a wild, endlessly looping ride through his vibrant worlds. Using a 2.5D camera technique in After Effects, we fly backwards through layered illustrations — pulling the viewer deeper into each scene. The result is an attention-grabbing loop packed with fun, energy, and just the right amount of chaos.
